Summer!

School is done! Summer has begun!
Technically last Friday was the last day of school, but I felt like summer really began Memorial Day weekend. It was such a fabulous and warm weekend and we enjoyed 4 full days at Silver Lake with my parents. I can't remember it ever being that warm before and we even went swimming in the lake several times. The boys had so much fun and Daddy and Papa had lots of fishing time and caught tons of fish.

The last week of school was kind of slow for me because most of my 5th graders were at camp. So on Wednesday, I headed up to Camp Pendalouan to hang out with some of my favorite people and even got to try out the high ropes. So fun!

Yup, that's me bravin' the high ropes course.

Then on Thursday Sam officially "graduated" from kindergarten. I can't believe he's going to be in 1st grade next year. So bittersweet, but I'm so proud of him and all that he's learned and accomplished this year!

On Friday, my 5th graders graduated... it was a really special ceremony and I'm so proud of these kids. Here's a few pictures of the rest of my kids that I didn't photograph at camp.

Lastly, on Saturday Sam participated in the Little People's Olympics. He was in the 5-6 year old age group and "competed" in the standing long jump, softball throw, soccer kick, and the 40 & 60 yard dash. It was a fun experience for Sam and he did very well in all events (not that we were keeping track or anything!). His father and Grandpa Ron were a bit more intense than he was...poor kid has some serious competitive genes coming at him from BOTH sides of the family.

Unfortunately, the battery in my camera died so I didn't get very many pics. (See, I am a Kleinsheksel after all! Grandpa Rudy's camera dies at EVERY family function!)

Here's to a GREAT summer! And many more posts to come!
