It's a .... BOY!!!
Yup, we're adding another wild man to the Beckham Bunch! The ultrasound was really cool and we got to see the baby in 3D. He was very active and squirming all over the screen...just like his big brother did! Also, the echocardiogram went great and we were told the new "little man" does not have any heart issues! We are feeling very blessed and grateful for this good news. When we told Sam that he was going to have a baby brother, he got very excited and started jumping all around the room. I've included pictures from the ultrasound, included a few 3D pics and of course...a picture of his little manhood! :)

16 weeks
16 weeks and counting! I had an appointment on Friday with my doctor (Mary Gootjes) and she said I am measuring perfectly on target. I haven't been feeling any movement yet, so I'm getting anxious for that considering my belly is definitely getting larger by the minute. The heartbeat was 158 bpm (same as last appt.) and the doctor said, "Oh wow, that's a fast beating heart!" She claims it's a girl, but I think it's a boy. So far, my pregnancy seems about the same as it did with Sam. Either way, I'd be happy as long as my baby is healthy. We set up an appointment with the Maternal Prenatal Specialist in GR for an ultrasound/echocardiogram for Feb. 26 at 1:00. The risk of this baby having a heart defect isn't significant, but the chances are higher since we already had a baby with a heart problem. I'm not too worried about it, but definitely ready to get the appointment over with. So...please pray for good news...a big healthy baby boy or girl!
Sam's Funny Comments of the Day:
#1 Yesterday, Sam asked me how the baby was going to get out. Hum?!! I had to think carefully about this and responded that the doctor will help me get him or her out. This seemed to satisfy his curiousity until hours late when he rubbed my belly and said, "Mom are they going to make a big scar like I have and cut the baby out?" My response, "No, they hopefully will not have to cut the baby out." Sam's response, "Well, then mom, tell me how the baby is going to get out!" Now I was totally tongue tied and again just said, "The doctor is going to help me get the baby out." He didn't seem real happy with this answer, but now he is running around saying,
"The baby is going to just POP right out of my mom!" :)
#2 Also, yesterday Sam was in one of his really lovey dovey moods. Every couple of minutes he would run in the room to tell me, "Mom, I really love you!" I would respond, "No I love you more!" It was very cute and Brian was laughing that Sam has me wrapped around his little finger. The cutest comment came after several rounds of our "I love you more" game when Sam exclaimed, "Mom, I just can't stop loving you!" (okay, so Brian was right...he does have me totally wrapped!)
