Mini-Milestones

Over the weekend, the boys each accomplished their own mini-milestone....Sam learned to ride his bike without training wheels and Carter is taking lots of steps on his own!

As usual, Sam was a quick study. Brian took the training wheels off this afternoon and practiced with him for about 10 minutes before we went to do some shopping. When we got back, I practiced with him for another 5 minutes or so and he had it! (Thank goodness, because that was the most exercise Mom has had in a long time...my legs were burning!) Looks like I better dust off my bike and get ready for some family bike rides! :)

Carter's walking video won't upload, so I'll try again later. Poor guy woke up Sat. morning with a nasty case of pink eye. Thankfully, he looks much better today after 24 hours of medicated drops. Okay, now I got the videos to upload, so here's some footage of Carter stumblin' and bumblin'...

Also, on Friday afternoon, Sam's preschool had a Spring Tea. The kids performed a little play and sang songs, followed by tea and cookies. Sam was one of the 3 ducks, but let's just say he doesn't appear to be following in his father's footsteps...He doesn't dig performing in front of people and gets rather shy and red cheeked. This week Wednesday is his last day of preschool and that evening he graduates! (more pics to come!) Sorry, the lighting in the church sancutary is very dim,so the pics didn't turn out great, but he looked very handsome and grown up. Here's a few more cute pictures of the boys enjoying the swingset out back. It was Carter's first time in the swing and he LOVED it!

Tulip Time Fun

Tonight the Beckham/Frego/Kleinheksel clan went downtown to eat Tulip Time junk food (I actually ate something semi-healthy since my last corn dog didn't seem to agree with me too well). We also took pictures of the kids (Sam, Carter, Mya, and Owen) near some pretty yellow tulips and watched the Dutch dancers. It was a good time except I still didn't get an elephant ear...guess we'll have to make another trip back downtown sometime soon! Oh darn!

This past Saturday afternoon, Brian and I took Sam and Carter to Kinderplaatz, a "Dutch" festival for the kids that is part of Tulip Time. This is Sam's favorite thing to do and he had a riot enjoying all the cool activities and opportunities to pet animals and even hold a snake!!! (Mom was not very excited about this...AT ALL!)
We might have momentarily lost track of Sam which made for the longest 5 minutes of my life. Apparently Sam decided to get in line for a blow up slide and in his excitement forgot to tell his parents. After patiently waiting in line and going down the slide, he came running up to me with a big grin on his face. The tears flowing down my cheeks quickly changed his smile into a "oh crap, what did I do now?" look. After that, we held hands the rest of the day. :)

Three New Things

#1 I'm taking my first baby steps!

#2 I like to tell my mommy "No!" already

#3 I just cut my 4th tooth today. Can you see it?
No? Can you see it now?!!
